Q1. When did you first realize you wanted to a writer?

A1. I began reading at an early age and began writing stories and poems as well. I won the first prize in a short story competition in the children’s magazine target when I was 11 years old. So, I always knew I wanted to write and tell stories.

Q2. Where do you get your inspiration?

A2. Since I write non-fiction, my inspirations come from social and political developments.

Q3. Describe your writing space?

A3. I do not have a defined space. I have written everywhere, in air planes, in hotel rooms, on the kitchen table.

Q4. ‘The Indic Quotient’ your recent book, tell something about your this book?

A4. In The Indic Quotient I have written about the resurgence of Indian heritage and knowledge systems and the growing entrepreneurship and activism around it.

Q5. How do you develop your plot and characters?

A 5. Since I write non-fiction, I look at real people who have made an impact in the area I am exploring.

Q6. How long does it take you to write a book?

A6. I have taken 4 years for my latest book.

Q7. What is the most surprising thing you discovered while writing your books?

A 7. I discovered a lot about myself especially my cultural identity and how it holds a significant place in my life while writing The Indic Quotient.

Q8. What was your favorite part and your least favorite part of the publishing journey?

A 8. Ideating for me is always fun and editing being such a rigorous job can get very demanding

Q9. Is writing your full-time career?

A 9. No, I have a day job in corporate learning and development.

Q10. What does success mean to you? What is the definition of success?

A 10. Success to me means to be able to achieve the target I have set out for myself.

Q11. Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?

A 11. Write because you enjoy writing and not for any external appreciation.
