In this self-curated show Bijoy Kumar Basak an Artist with numbers of Awards in his kitty give the viewer an intimate and undisturbed exposure to his recent reflections. “A Soliloquy is an expression of one’s innermost thoughts, undisturbed by the presence of other people around him. It is literally a talk to one’s own self”.

Art encompasses many forms of expression which has been defined and portray in many ways like the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. Bijoy Kumar Basak believe that whatever happens in the world, immediately or far away, within the span of his lifetime takes a place in his biography. “Everything comes to me and touches me in various ways as an artist. Nothing is trivial, nothing is far-flung for me. Also, in the journey of daily life an artist must engage in activities that form the trivia of his existence” said Basak. As an artist, he is stirred by these little insignificants and the drama of the everyday. His works engage in conversations with all of these in this solo exhibition composed mostly of drawings in various media. In his work the surface is no less a component and he have a preference for paper as the ground. He construct his visual narrative through textures, fragile lines and subdued colours in mixed media.
