Haryana Tourism has been very proactive in projecting the state as a pertinent centre for trade and commerce. An attempt in this direction includes a host of reputed Convention Centers that cater to the niche Meetings, Incentives, conference and exhibition (MICE) segment. These Convention Centers have come up at Hotel Rajhans in Surajkund; Tiylar Lake, Rohtak and Red Bishop, Panchkula. There are also a myriad of other multipurpose halls at Haryana Toursim’s resorts that can be use for corporate events.
Land of Fairs & Festivals
Surajkund International Creafts Mela held at Faridabad from 1st to 15th February, 2014, is an annual fair set in a rural backdrop that everyone looks forward to. It’s one of the very few places where ethnic crafts come together with authentic food, celebrating our country’s overwhelming diversity. It’s Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism’s initiative for handicraft lovers and the modest craftsman. While the craftsperson from across the globe get a good platform to showcase their wares, the shoppers can treat themselves to specialities from every state. A host of cultural performances by artistes from different parts of the country and abroad add to the charm of the Mela. Haryana Tourism also organizes Baisakhi Mela (April 13 & 14), Mango Mela (June-July) and Pinjore Heritage Festival (November-December) at Pinjore Gardens every year.
Adventure Farm & Golf Experience
Those seeking thrill and adventure need to venture no further than Morni Hills in Panchkula District. Various water sport options are available at Tikkar Taai along with sites that organize river crossing and commando nets. Cultural Dance at Surajkund Crafts Mela In a unique public-private collaboration, Haryana Tourism has decided to give visitors a taste of rustic, farm life by registering and promoting 13 farms that organize stay and leisure options for corporate and families. These farms are located near Delhi. Haryana is also quite popular with golfing fraternity. The Haryana Toursim owned and operated Aravalli Golf Course at Faridabad has an exquisite clubhouse and spacious rooms for the comfort of golf enthusiasts. Soon there will be Light and Sound show at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak, modern state-of the art hotel at Gurgoan and Convention Centre at Hissar and also coming up are an adventure camp in Damdama, Gurgaon, a nature camp at Surajkund and a new wellness resort-cum-spa at village Kaziana near Pinjore and amusement park at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak under Public Private Partnership mode.
Upholding History and Heritage
Sites of historical significance have been painstakingly restored and turned into tourist attraction. Like the Pinjore Gardens, built in the 17th century and the only Mughal Gardens outside Kashmir, located on the Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway is a heritage resort that offers best of facilities for tourists.
