Goa government to introduce many tourism related aspects

Goa government is looking to boost the sector through investment that would go a long way in developing Goa as a world class destination and intent to start operations at Mopa international airport by 2022 said by Dr. Pramod Sawant the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa while addressing The Goa International Travel Mart (GITM) 2019 and further said the government is introducing many tourism related aspects such as golf courses, eco-econmic, medical tourism and sports tourism, and are committed to keep tourist safe. Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar Hon,ble Dy. Chief Minister and Minister for Tourism along with Shri Ashok Kumar Secretary for Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Shri Nikhil Dessai, Shri Rajesh Kale Dy. Director for Tourism also address the event.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. During the two-day exhibition held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, several business sessions were held for participants namely by Mr. Chiraj Goel of MakeMyTrip & Goibibo, whiskey and wine tasting sessions and a talk was held by medical tourism which was attended by the medical fraternity in Goa. 100 Exhibitors represented various products of Goa such as Luxury Hospitality Products, Homestays, Casinos and Gaming destinations, Destination Management Companies, Adventure products such as water sports and Scuba Diving, Festivals of Goa, etc.

The goal of the event is to increase the overall size of the tourism sector in Goa and showcase Goa as a travel destination and strive to bring about a face-to-face interaction of the travel trade, hoteliers, and stake holders from Goa with leading travel agents from India and abroad.
